This Saturday, Dec. 4th, presents a great time to set intentions and wishes under the New Moon in Sagittarius, which peaks at 2:44 am EST. While we cannot see new moons like we do the bright brilliance of the full moons, we can certainly tap into the energy they provide. Add on a solar eclipse – the last of 2021 – and there’s sure to be some unexpected shifts or changes ahead. Or maybe you’re already experiencing it. Keep in mind that Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion, so whatever shifts may be occurring for you right now or in the near future could very well be a needed change.
New moons are the beginning of the lunar cycle so wishing for what you want to see manifest in your life over the next six months before its corresponding full moon in Sagittarius is the way to go. Sit down, write down 10 wishes, read them out loud, and give thanks after each one.
If you work with crystals, under the new moon in Sagittarius, consider using garnet, sodalite, citrine, tiger’s eye, or blue lace agate, which are all associated with this fire sign. Great options for essential oils are Roman or German chamomile, bergamot, and frankincense. You could also get the chamomile as an herb and use it to make tea or add it to your bath. Not into chamomile, maybe dandelion, Oregon grape root, or feverfew is more your speed. Sometimes it’s as simple as adding some flowers to your home décor or using the petals for a nice new moon bath. For Sag, the best floral companions are red roses, thistles, peonies, and carnations.
When working with the moon, the only rule is that you use your intuition. How do you feel is the best way to tap into this new moon in Sagittarius energy? Which crystals, herbs, oils, and flowers call to you the most. Go with that one!
Whatever you do, carry in the optimistic, adventurous, and truth-seeking ways of Sag into your new moon ritual and remind yourself always, that self-love is not selfish.
